I want to get some for next year. Willing to get something nice, spend a few bucks, but definitely not a real human skeleton. Even that would be too spooky for me
Any sites or stores where I might find something good? Preferably not a hallowed plastic one, although I've seen some that, in appearance, look great. A legitimate, authentic looking skeleton I suppose is what I'm after! And of course, I don't mind adding finishing touches of wear and paint to it.

What you want is a Bucky. Check eBay. You can usually pick up a "slightly imperfect" Bucky (and in most cases you won't even be able to spot the "imperfections") for under $100. I think I paid about $70 for mine shipped a few years back.

If you have a halloween city store by you- check them. They have a lot of choices, including ones that are of great, posable quality with small hardware at the joints for adjustment. It's 50 bucks at my store and it's worth every penny of it for the quality alone. Good luck.

True pain and suffering he brought to them all
Away ran the children to hide in their beds,
for fear that the devil would chop off their heads..."

Thanks for the heads up! That's pretty much what I'm exactly looking for.
Let me ask you this... what's the difference between a "Bucky" and a "Blucky"? Some sellers have noted the two names, but what's the actual difference? I'm assuming "quality" is just the appearance i.e. 1st quality, 4th quality, etc

Blucky is lite weight blow mold plastic, Bucky is the hard plastic that doctors have in an office. Buckys are heavier & cost more than Bluckys, Bluckys are a cost effect alternative, just don't look as real as a Bucky....... & the Buckys are usually 4th quarter for the $100, 1st quality cost a lot more $300 - 400+
When you look in the mirror at midnight,....what looks back at you.........

I got my buckys from a medical supply company (that is were the resellers on ebay get them). There are several medical supply companies that sell them. I don't remember which one I got them from, sorry. The 4th quality will have some imperfections like broken ribs or two left hands. Nothing that detracts from them.
As an interesting note, as they were from the medical supply company, when they were shipped here to Canada they were not subject to duty or taxes. Perhaps the "human skeleton" on the side of the box helped! I had three shipped, all at different times. Last year I paid around $70, I found a coupon online for 20% off as well. They look much better than any other skeletons.
