Part of our haunt is a scene on our back covered patio. Its about 14 feet by 12. It will have a back wall panel 12 feet long, and two side wall panels each 4 feet wide. There will be a cage wall running along the entire front of the scene, giving it the appearance of a large cell/cage.
We plan to have a static dummy chained to the wall. There will also be a live actor with a gory mask wearing bloody clothes and holding a chop saw type weapon. The actor will sit in a chair very still and then scare groups of patrons as they pass by. Looking for other prop ideas to give this scene some pop. Going for kind of a prison cell that holds a deranged killer guy. There will be a small table with a skull and a severed body part or two. My sonb thought an old rusty bed frame would look col but finding one will be a challenge given the short time left. It will be dimly lit for effect. Appreciate any ideas you all come up with.

Torture chamber....I picture alot of skeletons and corpses hanging from various chains and deathtraps. Dollar store chains, and skulls and some scrap wood could help keep the costs down if you can get the bodies and skeletons.
When storage is a concearn, put your monster props under the kids beds.

Sounds good so far. If the cage is between your actor and your guests, replace a couple of the cell bars by stretching a bicycle inner tube (the skinny ones from a 26in. or taller wheel) from floor to ceiling (you will first have to make one cut so it is no longer a circle) . they will now blend in with the rigid bars. Then your actor can grab one in each hand and spread them apart to escape. It will be a big surprise to your guests when they find out they are not safe on the outside of the cage. best of luck.
