So this year my ghoulfriend and I found an amazing steal, a free standing faux fireplace.
It was something that she and I had been wanting for our apartment for a few years and when we located one for free, we swooped in and picked it up. But that lead us down the path of wondering how we were going to incorporate it into our Halloween decor.
Well, it was easier than I though. Rather simple actually.
Spirit Halloween had a tiny 400w fogger that was able to fit behind the fireplace facade and the fireplace insert had a 1.25" hole in it, which was the same diameter of the output spout on the fogger.
So with a little bending of the output nozzle, I was able to mount up the fogger to the hole in the insert.
Once that was done, all I needed was a 2' length of pvc, a pvc cap, and to drill a few holes in the pipe (every 2" for those interested).
I rested the pipe inside the nozzle of the fogger and the capped end into the hole on the opposite side of the fireplace enclosure and voila, instant haunted fireplace!
The whole thing ran me less than $30 and it a really great effect. Plus it gives us a way to pipe fog into our apartment without having a fogger laying around.
