i have about 20 small and large grave headstones, and i cant find any of my stakes ;( what can i go and buy to make them stand up?

the headstones are the ones you would get at your local halloween store, with plastic stakes, those thin ones. some of them have broken and now it seems the bag i had them in is lost, so i need new ones now.

    what can i use?

    thanks.

I glued 1x2's on the back of mine and staked them in the ground with that.

i went over to Osh, and found 25 count bags of bamboo stakes. they have 3ft 5ft bags. and they were only about $3 a bag. so i got 3 bags. worked out great. i can cut the 3ft stakes down easily, and just hammered them into the ground.

came out great. no problems. tomorrow i will add back support stakes to the headstones. calling it a day now. got the front of the house 90% done. tired.

I Gorilla Glue a piece of thin plywood to the back of my gravestones and then screw two pieces to PVC pipe to the back using metal pipe strapes I got from Lowes. Then I just slide the PVC pipe onto two 18 inch pieces of rebar that I pushed into the yard.

I think this is really the best way to do it. It makes it way easy to pick up the headstones if bad weather comes in and the extra weight of the plywood makes the headstone a lot more sturdy and durable.
