I'm already thinking toward future haunt themes. I posted for help under the halloween music section about needing some audio tracks for a prop idea of The Singing Embalmers. This would be using 3 modified Gemmy Spirit Ball white-haired guys that OpenTrackRacer was so helpful in doing a tutorial on last year.
I was wondering if you guys could check out the music thread (linked to above) and give me any feedback here on how you would actually set this up ie. would you run 3 separate mp3 players, one to each singing head, and have them remotely triggered at the same time to go on. Obviously I'd want to have them singing in unison and not sure how to achieve this. I thought if there were three separate vocal tracks then each prop could have a different "voice" and make it a more realistic experience.

What are you using to control the prop? VSA would handle the audio. you would need a multi-chanel sound card and record your audio in say 5.1 with one voice left front, one right front and the third left rear. You would then output the three channels to three separate powered speakers so that each would be playing only that heads part. Trying to sync up 3 mp3 players is going to be no easy feat. Would be happy to offer any clarification or help. Keith

Thank Keith for the suggestions. I probably should have said that I don't have the funds for VSA so need to work with more low end solutions.

Ok, how about giving this a try. Download Audacity (Freeware) and set one prop's track panned hard left, ones panned hard right and the other straight up the middle. You would then place the hard left panned speaker under the left prop and so on. The left and right tracks would appear to come directly from those props and the mid panned track, coming equally from both channels would appear to be coming from the middle prop. It is a quick, down and dirty solution if you can lay the props out that way. Let me know and we can keep brainstorming. Keith

Thanks again for the suggestion. I'll check out Audacity (hope it's available on a mac otherwise might be a problem) and spend some time playing with it. I'm running around trying to put together everything I need for this year's set up (only do on Halloween night) so I think this will be my Xmas break project. I have one prop head done and need to repeat it with two others in order to test it out. Thanks again so much.

No problem and yes Audacity will work on a mac. I use it on a mac now. Good luck. Post something when you are done, I would love to see it. Keith

Will do soundmankkc. So far no one has responded about the audio tracks but the thread has had a lot of lookers to the post. With everyone preparing for this year still, I don't expect a response until things settle down after the holidays and people have some breathing time. Somehow my voice a cappella just isn't going to cut it
- 'course that could be scary afterall.

As it turns out, I have a recording studio. If the tracks are not needed till next season, I could probably do them for you. I have several singers who would be more than up to the gig. It would be free of course, and the quality would be top notch. Shoot me a pm and we can arrange something. Keith
