I am doing the run down asylum theme this year. Outside I will have a hanging twitching suicide patient, an asylum gate 8' tall, some fog, a strobe, and two hi-rez insane inmate videos running in two front windows. What color lighting do you guys think I should use for the trees and house front?

When I think of asylums, some reason I think of red rotating lights on the wall, like the old sirens for an escapee!
And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting

Yes, otherwise, I think of bright white lights like a hospital. But that isn't very scary. Police beacons would be a good touch mounted up on the wall. For your overall lighting, I'd try to replicated emergency backup lights that you see in building. You can probably do so with some cheap 2 bulb flood light fixtures normally used for outdoors, but put some low wattage bulbs in them, or dim them. Also, make sure they are as warm color-wise as you can get, to give the feel of a low wattage incandescent bulb. I guess if you were really ambitious and wanted a wireless option, you could hack some cheap flashlights into a fixture designed to your choosing.

If you wanted to make one like this one. You could find a source for old fog-lights. Probably a junkyard. I know I had a 1990 Jeep Cherokee that had the perfect fog lights for this. They sucked to use on the road, but they would be great for this, and they run off of 12volts dc.
