Hallow and maybe try a local Boy Scout troop that wants to give stuff away that is no longer used. Or check out an army surplus or Tractor farm supply stores. Otherwise - you could put a request on Craig's list. I found a very cool lantern - looks like a farm one - similar to your photo style - only totally rusty. It was at a flea market antique type store - the ones with lots of booths that people rent to sell stuff.
    Happy Hunting! BOO!

HallowSusieBoo, so, I took your advise and found this http://www.generalarmynavy.com/Keros...dv-105-84.html at a local army surplus. Now, since it's brand new, I need to rusty it up. Any ideas anyone on making it old in a matter of a couple hours?

You can buy a real one at walmart for $5 and put a flicker light in it for under a buck. That's what I did.

When I Google the phrase "make things look rusty." I got many ideas. These are a few ( like the cinnamon one if your lantern will be in the house! Yummy!):

RE: Making metal look rusty and old?

I saw spray paint at Lowe's that makes it look rusty, old, and hammered. Don't remember the brand, but it was around $6.00 a can, and came in rust, black, red and a few other colors.

Hgtv.com (crafts message boards) has had some
postings in the last month or so
about using brown or black spray paint and sprinkling
cinnamon on it while wet. In the pictures they posted,
it does look rusty. I don't know how the cinnamon
thing would hold up outside though. There was a
spray on the market, don't know if it is still out
there, that would make things rust. Check everywhere
    they sell spray paints.

Go to a stain glass store. They will have the products that you can just wipe on to age metal.

One simple and inexpensive way to make metal rusty and old looking is to simply spray vinegar on it. Do not spray it very heavy, just mist it with a common spray bottle. Do not dilute the vinegar. Wait a couple of hours between applications, the more you apply, the more it will rust.
