Well guys, this is my first attempt at corpsing a 3' tall "bucky" type skelly.
I think the stain I used was WAY too dark, but I guess that's how I learn for the next time.
Tell me what you guys think?
The last 2 "final" pics are kinda crappy quality...I'll try to get better pics tomorrow.

When you guys do the "staining" process......are you using gloss stain? I think the glossy bones looks kind of fake and am not really liking it that much. And like I mentioned I think the stain I used is a bit dark....
Maybe I'm just a perfectionist....lol

If you think it's to dark, you could always dry brush a lighter color over it

I used sand paper over my bucky to dull him out before I gave him a coat of Shellac. I also rubbed the varnish off most of the bones with Mineral spirits so they will only have a light tint of varnish on them.

thanks for the input guys.....I didn't even think to sand down the bones or to pull the varnish off mostly...

Looks good.
I use min wax and drybrush black in certain areas.
You could dry brush some color on him like a mossy green to break up the color if you want.
You won't mess him up.
