I've got three fog machines that are on the fritz. So far, I have repaired two of them using the instructions here: [URL="wolfstone.halloweenhost.com/_LocalMirror/How%20to%20Resurrect%20a%20Fogger.pdf"]

The machines I have are different than the one described here, but face it, a fog machine is just a jug of juice, a pump and a heating element. Sometimes you just gotta dig into one and find out what makes it tick! So far, I've taken apart two pumps which is not too difficult. You just have to remember where all the little parts go when you're ready to reassemble after cleaning and lubing.

i like this, but my pump seems to be completely sealed. It is a machine from halloween city, and it is 120V 60Hz. It is the 400watt model similar to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHa8K2ZaA6w

Anyone know a source for a replacement?

That one looks exactly like the first machine I pulled apart. The pump looks like it's sealed, but it's not. Look for the small copper tube coming out the pump, going into the heating element. THAT side of the pump comes apart to reveal the o-ring seals, the piston and the spring inside. Clean everything like it says in the link and make sure you remember EXACTLY where all the parts go back to. It's a pretty quick job. Good luck!

I have a 400w and an 700w...I've had to clean my 700w out with success, but just had to trash a new, unused unit because it would not pump no matter how much I cleaned it out and scraped and poked (bought a year ago, hence unreturnable). The 400w ones are so cheap now that they're pretty much disposable.

This is a every year ordeal....(for me)
I'm not sure if im money ahead to buy a walmart special and throw it in the trash every year or buy a high dollar fog machine and hope it works for a few years....
