So I ordered a Hurricane 1300. I later found the threads regarding the older Chauvet units and advertised power - but it was too late to cancel. Anyway, unit arrived today. Unboxed and tried it out.
The unit fogs fine, but the remote timer does not appear to work. The Continuous and Manual buttons on the remote work fine, but the timer will not trigger the fogger. I've tried fiddling with it for a while with no improvement. I called Chauvet tech support, but had to leave a message so no telling if I'll get a return call or not.
Anyway, thought I'd post here looking for help in case I'm doing something bone-headed. It looks pretty straight forward. Push in the timer button - the timer light comes on. Set duration and interval... nothing ever happens. I've let it sit for over 20 minutes...

After reading your post I pulled mine out to see if there was a trick to getting it to work. It won't work for me either. I hear the fogger making clicking sounds but no fog. The continuous button and the manual buttons fog just fine.
I did notice that the user manual shows the manual controller above the wireless controller. On the back of the fogger though it is the opposite. I tried both and neither worked for the timer function. Both worked with the continuous and the manual function.
Once you find out what is wrong with yours please post again. I don't really need the timer because I'll be controlling the fog using a DMX relay. However, there may come a time when I might want to use the fogger independent of the whole computer and DMX control method and it would be nice to have it working right.

Thanks for checking. Sounds like exactly the same issue.
I called chauvet back. Guy said it sounds like a bad timer. He wanted a copy of my receipt which I forwarded.
I'll keep the thread updated.
Btw, mine clicks too... I thought maybe that was just the heating element cycling??

I just bought one of these too, but haven't tested it out yet.
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread and will let you know what mine does when I test it out this weekend.

I just got mine today and this thread has me very worried that maybe I made a mistake. Hopefully mine will not display this behavior. I haven't bought fog juice yet and won't use the cheap crap I've used in the past in my cheapo's so have no way to test till this weekend unless things change. Watching this thread very closely...
It seems to my vague recollection that my first fogger with a real remote did this. Can't remember what the problem was but that machine and remote have worked well for the last 3-4 years now. Have to ask some people if they remember what it was and what the fix was...it was something really stupid. Damn, my old memory. Cait

Quick Update: Chauvet confirmed my receipt and invoiced me (zero dollar) a replacement remote today. Hopefully it ships today as well. I will keep this thread updated.

I bought mine from an Amazon merchant and all I have is my PayPal receipt. I guess I'll call them tomorrow and see about mine.

Got mine from Amazon as well and thats all I had. Chauvet didn't seem to have a problem with it.
Ask for Fernando... he should be familiar with the issue now. Despite the comments on Amazon of similar problems (actually continually triggering the fogger rather than never triggering), Chauvet's tech support didn't seem to have any history on this issue. Makes me a bit concerned that a new timer isn't going to make a difference. We'll see.

Just read some of the Amazon reviews. Make sure you guys add your comments to Amazon, if you haven't done so already.
I do like one of the guys who comments by saying this fogger is "too powerful". Haha. I'm sure my neighbors will be calling the fire department now when they see smoke billowing out into their backyard.
Anyway, I'll also got mine on Amazon and will test it out this weekend.

I got a 1300 in exchange for a bad fogger , cant remember model number. This was my first real fogger as opposed to those they sell everywhere during Halloween . When that thing got going I was blown away , big difference in speed, quality and quantity . Sucks that you already have a problem , good luck.
Be afraid , be very afraid !!
