I ordered the animated spellbook from Spirit and I'm wondering if others who have it are pleased with it? I was surprised to see that most websites were asking $45 for it, but Spirit was about $25. Spirit's usually more expensive IMO. I'm hoping it's not an el-cheapo version of the $45 spellbook. You thoughts?

I have the spirit one. I haven't seen the others yet so I can't compare them. The display unit in the store was broken. But in all fairness when they changed to a new one for the display the first girl by picked it up and was trying to pry it open when it activated. It seems to be able to stand some of that with the plastic gears slipping. If you don't let the TOTs touch it you should be okay. It is a little cheesy, with red leds on each side. Cover opens to an internal sound track via a little speaker on the edge. Good for a witches scene prop, but might be difficult to understand if background music or sound effects are playing.

I think it's too much money for a book that seems a bit small. I went with these for my witch scene-

The illuminated book of spells is a great oversized book. They are inexpensive and get the job done.

I like the ones on the link, good price. I used the Spirit animated book and put it in the hands of one of my witches. Worked great and inspired me to work on an animated crow for next year.

Those are nice, but the spirit one actually opens up. That is the action that made it effective for me. The vocal stuff, was not as much.
