Hey all,
I've got my chair built but I'm running into a dead end with finding leather straps and a head piece. Anyone have any advice?

Leather straps: Dollar stores if you're looking for several identical ones. Thrift stores for even better proces, but less chances of finding two alike.
"Metal" restraints: An alternative to leg and arm leather restraints. From Lowes or Home Depot, large diameter PVC couplings cut in half and then joined together with hinges and able to be locked with a hasp. Painted silver.
Headpiece option: From Lowes or Home Depot, metal shop floodlight reflectors. I connected mine to a "U" shaped piece of conduit PVC which can be lowered onto the "victim" and ran wires to a small DC powered strobe light I hid within the reflector (some modifications needed, of course). A head strap could have also been used with this, but I opted not to use one.
I've seen some people paint a plastic bowl copper, using a headstrap and a coiled wire to run the the headpiece, that also looked good.Demon Dog

I have two electric chair props now.... for one headpiece I used the floodlight reflector and it's suspended above the chair with a PVC piping system that was painted to make it look like metal.
The other headpiece I made from metal flashing, lots of spare wiring and some different sized metal washers. Wiring held in place with wingnut and screws. There are pics in my albums if you care to see them.

I've added a lot more wires to that one headpiece now..... I think it adds to the effect.

Leather belts from the thrift store can be used for the straps and you can also make a old style head strap by looping the belt and tacking with hot glue and putting 3 bolts in the strap to connect your wires.

We used cheap leather belts found at the flea market for wrist and leg restraints. Our head piece was also made from the same cheap leather belts. A little scuffing on the belt sander to distress them. For our chest restraint we used the belt portion of a harness we also found at the flea market.
