I have built an electric chair and am looking for a motion detector to set it in motion. All of the motion detectors that I can find in the local hardware store have setting where they will run for 1, 5, 10 or 20 minutes. I am looking for less than 30 seconds. Anyone know where I can get one?

Most of the models I've worked with have a "test" mode that only runs for 5 seconds. Conveniently they are also the really cheap ones (around $15.00). I just buy them right of the shelf at any of the big box stores.

there are wall switch motion detectors, they have dual settings, 0N up to 15 sec & 0N up to 15 min both dial adjustable.

Yeah the test mode works well for me. If the group is long then it just resets it off seamlessly after the 5 seconds as the group walks though.

We sell a relay timer that could work for you. The timer connects to a PIR motion sensor (or other type of sensor) and you can set the "on time" from between 5 sec and 5 min. You can also adjust the "off time" from 15 sec to 30 min to prevent continuous triggering.
