I am building my fence this weekend out of 1/2" gray electrical pvc and I want to buy some of the spear finials from steel supply. Question is what size finials do I get? Since they are square would the 3/4" work? Any help is appreciated thanks.

this may sound wierd but I thought about finials for my pvc fence but in my haste to get it built I tried something else.
if you have a heat gun, heat the end of the pvc until it's soft and using some pliers, pinch the top of the pipe and give it a little pull to stretch it some.
you could even twist it some for a different look.
once painted black you don't even notice that it's a PVC pipe in my opinion.
I didn't go too crazy with it as you see. I just crimped the ends to give the top of the fence a pointed look but sky's the limit.
Spend the money on more skulls!

I just received my finials from King metals. I bought the 1/2". I'm going to use 1/2" round dowels about an 1" long. Hot glue the dowel into the finial and then into the PVC. PVC is just barely over 1/2" inside diameter so in theory it should work perfect. By going this route the finials are only .16cents each so they are cheaper than 5/8" or 3/4". I will post some pics tonight or tomorrow of a completed section.

I used square dowels to attach my 1/2" cast iron finials. Had to file off the edges where inserted into the conduit but the square end fit the finials fine. Hot glue didn't hold for me so I ended up using liquid nails. Good luck building yours & looking forward to pics.

All the different methods all seem to work well for people. I used the heat gun, squishing/jamming finials onto it method, and that has worked out WELL for me... I did lose 2 finials when we moved storage units back in June, but I bought a few extra so if something like that happened, I'd be able to replace them. Good Luck and let us know what worked well for you!
How many days do I have left?

I bought the 3/4 plastic spear finials from King Metals (highly recommend!) and heated the tops of the pvc pipe with a propane lighter - the kind you use for lighting the bbq or fireplace, etc. - and then jammed the finial on. Worked great and only burned myself a couple of times in the process!
