The main difference is that one is animated obviously. But as far as quality and effect which do you like. I am leaning towards the non-moving one because I think I can make a better quality animated one as far as durability goes using some designs off this sight. But that would not be until next year though. And one is an on line only item too. I don't trust the animated props to last long either. Thanks for your opinions.

Our local Spirit has both and the detail on the static lawn prop is pretty decent, although it's still over-priced. A few pieces of pvc and a good mask/hands and you can make your own. The animated zombie is flimsy and not very convincing. Personally I wouldn't purchase either for what they're charging.

Hello, I have bought from Spirit for a few years now and like what items I have, including the ground breaker. It looks great with some FX lighting... one thing that I really like is the "out of ground" Zombie torso, really good buy for the money! Use the 20% off coupon and get it even cheaper!

I have that 3-piece static prop, and it's by far one of the best looking props at Spirit. I'm thrilled with it. If you're not up for making your own, I'd absolutely say go with this one.
its a bit pricey, but kinda worth it if you ask me. (It was to me... dropped $48 on it last year)

I am leaning toward the static prop. With the coupon I can get it for less than $50. It really does look cool in person. Thanks guys.

Here's what happened last year. I wanted a groundbreaker... it looked pretty cool. That and another that they didnt have in store. So I go to the store to get it... eeh... it looks ok. I take it out of the box, oh, wait, this looks pretty nice.
Then I set it up in the ground, piled some dirt around it like it's pushed up and out... and to be honest it really looked awesome.
Last year my wife and I were a little in the dumps and I didnt do much... 3-4 tombstones, that groundbreaker, and a fog machine... we had neighborhood kids daring each other to come up and touch the zombie as they got off the schoolbus. People on halloween coming back to our house to take pictures.
I really do think that's one of the rare few props at Spirit that really looks good. And if you've read my posts here, I'm a total prop snob
That being said - if you have the skill, you can make something that looks better, cheaper. That not your bag of tea, this is a good buy.

With the track record of most store-bought animated props, there's numerous threads here about stuff that isn't work properly, I'd stick with the static.
