Ok, so I got a set of these, the Countess (female bust) speaks great, Dracula...not so good. So what does a home haunter do? He MODIFIES it quickly and cheaply. The Dracula bust has this "DUH, Which way did he go George, which way did he go?" look to it when sitting idle. I noticed by playing around with where the lower jaw mechanism sat in the rubber on the mouth it moved better BUT wouldnt stay. SO.... 2 small incisions and a little bit of superglue, PROBLEM fixed. The jaw now stays where it should and the chin has been raised and glued into place to close the "DUH" gap and give the mouth better movement.

Heres a link to the videos and some pics of how it was done. ENJOY.

FYI for some reason the pics arent in order but its PART 1, 2, and 3 for pics and PART A and PART B for videos. The videos are shaky, sorry no coffee yet and its a phone camera/video. The videos are ok BUT believe me the mouth moves ALOT better than it did before.

Props have come a very long way haven't they? Even before modification, they're still pretty impressive in their mouth movements.

Yes, they are. It seems that the posts Ive read on these talking busts that everyone has mentioned the great movement from the Countess but the lack of movement from Dracula. After I did this quick mod his mouth movement is 100% better and looks more natural.

It is easier to detect the mouth movement on the countess I think because here lips close. The count probably moves as much but because his mouth is open it looks like it doesn't move as much. Good mod on a good prop with a reasonable price. My wife got them and made pedestals for them out of foam board. The name plates say Abigail and Archibald Nagbaum.
