Here's how my FCG came out. I had to use some RIT Whitener/Brightener so the cloth would show up under the blacklight.

    A video of his movement.

Here's the wood rig I built.

Links to the motor and wallwart I used. I used a connector I scavenged from an old computer power supply to attach the wallwart to the motor.

Very nice! I like the way you built the rig too.

Nice job. My FCG has been the favorite prop over the years. I've had people crawling in my bushes trying to figure out how it works. Since the tree grew in front of the window, I'm moving it outside this year. It'll be hanging under an arched doorway with the mechanics in the attic. (Just don't tell my wife about the holes that I'm drilling in the top of the arch!)

That looks great. Nice ghost and the movement is perfect.

Blue knight, do a search for FCG or flying crank ghost on here and also go to MonsterList.com and both have great tutorials on building an FCG

I guess my next question is about these motors to make the animation. Are they cheap...where do I get them...what type of appliances at garage sales have 'em...etc. I'm ready to try the next step. So far, I've only done PVC structures w/Masks and clothing.

Haven't built one myself (have been meaning to), but yours looks great!!! Did you build it from plans or improv it from ideas you'd seen? Very cool. I too would like an inventory of parts and where they came from to make one. Cait

Your ghost looks great! I like your FCG rig, too. It looks like the cheap wooden one I made about 8 yrs. ago and am still using.
Do the eye bolts work well as the string guides? I used pulleys on mine, but I've thought about switching to the eye bolts.

    Nice job!
