Wishing to make "the great pumpkin" but flat on ideas. Live in Savannah so outside is going to be hot and humid through Halloween. Was thinking the pumpkin would be approx. 3 feet wide and 2 feet tall. Could I form the armiture out of chicken wire? If so- what could I use to cover it so a) it would be OK in the elements b) would be light enough to transport to storage c)not to pricey to make.
I would greatly appreciate any help with this. Love this forum - the pix and videos of projects are just wonderful and fun.

I wonder if you could form it from a "cattle panel". You wouldn't have to worry about storage as you could store it outside without weather affecting it. I know they bend them to make green houses with and so you should be able to bend it without much trouble. How about something like and old trampoline frame? Wow, just have no clue how to cover one.
AT least you made me do some thinking and looking....LOL

The lightest thing I can think of would be use the insulation foam that comes in a roll and is about an 1/8 inch thick. Then coat it with monster mud.
