So I made my first trip to our local Halloween City today. That in itself was a cause for jolly dancing. Well, I'm walking through the animated props section, and come upon the Insane Serial Killer. They sell it for $69.99, by the way. I'm checkin' it out, and happen to look down. REDUCED PRICE...$19.99!!!! I'm instantly jumping for joy, on the inside.

But here is the catch. It's missing the inner pole. No problem. PVC and some rigging covered it. But....the gear box is seized up. I have no idea how to fix this. My husband tried to mess with it, but wasn't successful. Like, he couldn't even manually make the gears move..if that makes sense. I have emailed Tekky Toys about whether or not they offer replacement parts. Waiting on an answer. But I'm impatient, so I thought I'd ask my fellow haunters. Does anybody know anything about replacing this or how to fix it? Any suggestions? I just couldn't pass up $19.99. Even if I just use him as a static prop, with the noises he makes, still worth that price to me.

    Anyhow.........Thanks

    P.S. Sorry ... I'm a bit long winded if you couldn't tell

sounds like something inside the gear box is broken. Most likely its all plastic inside and out and even if you can take it apart and identify the problem you may not be able to fix it. I've seen some of these gear boxes that are riveted together with metal gromets you can drill them out with a drill that's slightly larger but not too large and then the box should come apart. don't know if this helps any best of luck

If all else fails, purchase this prop from spirit or somewhere-

I'd be willing to bet it's the same exact gearing. Looks like the same movement to me. Then, inatall the either prop on it every other year to switch it up! LOL! Good luck!

^^^^ Just sent an email to "tekky toys" my killer's gear box is stripped/broken. I took the box apart only to find broken pieces in there. I only had this prop set up for around 4 hrs when it gave way. Ticks me off i will let you know the end result.
