Okay so I went to my local supply store and bought some pneumatic cylinders so I can change my props from door closer to the correct parts. I have no idea where to get the fittings for the cylinders. These do not seem to setup as simple as the door closers and I would like to know if someone could walk me through the setup

I understand the supply to a regulater to a solenoid to the cylinder but what about the fittings on the cylinder?

Thanks for your help in advance

Those come off the solenoid and go into the cylinders. They could be 1/8 to 1/4 NPT threaded quick hose connect fittings depending on the cylinder size. I usually get mine here and there but here are a few places I go:

okay this is starting to come together now, thank you...

Hoe do you get the air into the nylon nipple on the end of the fitting?

I have always gone to Home Depot and purchased the compression fittings for the 1/4" nylon water line used for ice makers. I use the water line as my supply lines, and the fittings are tapped for 1/4 NPT - which is what my solenoids are. I also use the brass plugs from the same section in HD to cap off any parts of the solenoid I don't need.

Here I made a video for another thread but it might explain alot because it shows the entire setup for 2 cylinders. Also expalins a simple "keybanger" controller.

The tubing just slides into the hole. When you want to replace or remove it, you press down on the ring surrounding the tubing.
