well after many hours of reading many different techniques for corsping a buckey skeleton, i desided to give it a shot.
i was looking for a good and rotten look. the juicier the better.
my technique is a little different from those i've read and probably much easier to get killa results.
materials required
couple/few cans of minwax stain (i opted for a cherry, dark walnut and pecan)
can of shelac
cheesecloth
and of course buckey skeleton (mines a 4th grade)
and the technique itself.
randomly/liberally apply(with brush/dabbing motion) all 3 colors of stain and shelac.
thats it.
tips
apply multiple coats
dont be affraid to mix the colors on the brush (i just went from can to can)
if you apply the shelac first, the stain will be repelled giving it a wet, drippy apperence.
after its tacky, gently rubbing the shelac will cause it to peel (much like peeling white glue from your finger) this peeled area will catch stain/shelac on repeat applications.
the stain/shelac doubles as glue if you want to add a little rotten flesh (cheese cloth)
and here's the results.
super easy to do, and mine dried within 24 hours.

That looks great!!
As I was going up the stair, I saw a man that wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today...Oh how I wish he'd go away.
