Hi, I'm new to the forum, but I needed some seasoned and random knowledge.
I just got a new fog machine, the Chauvet 900w, and the thick fog juice to go with it, hoping to fill a pretty small area with fog. But, when I tested it, I got steam, not fog. It's clear and floats up immediately.
I wondered if it had to do with the elevation, lower air density and maybe dryness. I'm in ABQ at 5,300 ft. When I lived at 2,000 ft I had the Wal-Mart 400w and I remember it working better.
Has anyone used fog machines at high altitudes? Does it make a difference or am I just expecting too much?

I've always had great results with Chauvet, but I've never worked at that altitude... have you tried running it through a chiller?

First off WELCOME!!!!
I used 2 foggers, 1 400W from Target and 1 400W from Spirit last year and they worked great! I live in ABQ, its actually its 4900 ft. sounds like you might have a dud....

Rats, and I haven't done the chiller. It's for a small room and I planned for it to be discrete. I didn't get the Chauvet juice. I got the ground fog juice at Party City.

My fogger performed as expected at 7,000 ft and the last time I used it before that was at 500 ft, but I have never used ground fog juice.

I didn't clean it. It was brand new out of the box.
I watched some videos on YouTube of the 400w and it does work better. This machine is pitiful.
Oh, and when I first tested it with a little fluid in the tank, nothing happened at all. Then I filled it all the way and it started working. I thought that there might be a sensor in there to prevent using it if the fluid runs low, but maybe the pump is faulty?
