So I'm in a new house this year with a pool in the backyard. I am planning on building a new trashcan fog chiller to keep a nice low fog over the pool for my party this year. Couple questions: Do you think my cheap 400w fogger will do the trick? I think i may need to upgrade to a 1000w? whats the best fogger for under $100?
What other ideas for decorating a pool? red pool light, and a floating body is about all I have thought of so far.

Fog over the pool sounds neat, just be careful that nobody falls in not knowing that it is a pool.

Swampyness would be cool, but you would likely have to do it yourself. Cattails, lilypads, etc. plus some fog and the creature from the black lagoon and ...

I agree that was my first thought as well. I would definitely recommend some type of barrier around it or marker. You wouldnt want any surprised guests ruining their costumes. Then u'd have plenty in your pool...

I was going to put a big block of dry ice in mine and let it bubble away.
I'm not sure how long it will last, but It's a cool effect. (no pun intended)
I've also got an underwater led color changing pond light, which lights up the pool quite well. like this one http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Fish-Bowl-Spo...item2eaf843cf6
Or if you already have a pool light (I don't) you could probably put a colored lens over top. just an idea.

I'm guessing in ground with a patio around it?
I think green Styrofoam floating platforms with real or fake cat tails, reeds, spanish moss, etc. would be really cool, especially with a red or green lighting and chilled fog. Plus some rubber swamp critters around and swamp sound f/x.
And a barrier of course, to keep the ghouls out of the swamp lolhttp://www.halloweenforum.com/member...bums-2011.html

Great ideas! Thanks. Everybody keeps suggesting to dye the pool but I had no idea I could actually do it. Everything we thought of would have permanently stained I think.. That pool dye is pretty affordable too!
I also really like the idea of making some sort of swampy feel, but Im not sure how much time I will have. But a swamp would fit perfect with the theme this year of Hell on Earth (zombies attacking the house, etc.)
At $5/lb I think I will skip the dry ice idea. It would just cost too much. Thats why Im going to have chilled fog. So any tips on which fogger I should get?
