Hey, I'm sure their is tutorials somewhere and sorry that I only looked for 2 days, but I've been stressing over this for 4 days. I'm makeing 2 static props, and I was planning on making hands for them. 3 of these hands need to be holding something, and the other dosn't. I'm just looking for a way, to make hands that I can pose a certain way, hold an object, maybe wear a glove, and be able to connect onto a 1/2" P.V.C pipe. Thanks a lot for the help.

I'm currently on a design where i use a foam block for the palm of the hand, which pvc can lock into, then I'm using small copper pipe that bends, with duct tape for the fingers

I use Crayola Model magic and run a wire through them. If your going to use gloves them some heavy gage wire into a wooden or foam block will work. To fill it out use polyfill. I did this for my Darth Maul and Sub Zero last year. All of my Bluckies use Model Magic and wires.

Go to Deals (a dollars store in my area...might be a different name in your area) get a set of fake hands ($3 dollars each). Next put a couple pieces of pipe cleaning wire in each finger and spray a small amount of greatstuff foam in each finger.

The hands are made out of thin plastic so the expanding greatstuff can deform the fingers. Keep a close eye on them and if you see it expanding too much use your fingers to squeeze and shape the fingers.

Next add some greatstuff to the palm and do like you did with the fingers. If it expands too much press on it to keep the hand shape. once it starts to set up, just a little, you can add a 1/2 inch piece of PVC. Use the PVC to connect the hand to your prop and you should be able to bend the fingers. I would actually bend the finger to get the shape I wanted before the foam cured (in step one). That would probably be the easiest way.

I take electrical wiring (romex) it is 3/8" inch wide and about a 1/4" thick. You can get scraps from residential construction sites for free. Take a length of wire and lay it in your arm to the tip of your finger. Cut the wire about half way up your for arm. Repeat for each finger. Lay them all out flat and tape them together in the shape of a hand. I then run masking tape all around them covering all areas. Leave the ends at the fore arm exposed; make a loop out of one of them to be able to hang the hand to dry. I then coat the entire hand in liquid latex a couple of times. (thin coats dry faster) Then I take cotton balls and unroll them. Coat them in latex on both sides and apply to the dried hand. Keep this up uintil you get the desired effect you are trying to achieve. I do the rotting corpses so I do not need a completely perfect hand. Now it is time for painting and application of the acrylic sealer (gloss) after it all dries. This is how I get the "wet" look to my props. I also add fake finger nails to and add a ring

I have them all over my house attached to full size props. People love them and actually have to touch them for some reason.

I do this for a party for all of our frineds. I do not do this for the actual halloween night. People think I am nuts. The tell me I need to open a haunted house here in Norfolk/VA Beach area.

    GOOD LUCK
