    Hello,

First off let me say that I have absolutely no experience with pneumatics or electric solenoids!

Anyways I'm building an "Asylum Door" prop using the video from HIREZ and the DTMF board from pimpmyprop.com

I am also using MAC solenoids 12VDC (5.4 watts) 35A-SAC-DDBA-1BA
to be exact. I have the solenoids connected directly to the DTMF board which is working and receiving the tones correctly from the DVD.

However, when the tones are played the DTMF boards LEDs light up and you can here the relays opening and closing, but it fails to operate the solenoids...

So I'm guessing I need an additional power supply to operate the solenoids but I'm unsure as how to connect or wire them up...

If anyone has used or built this setup any help or direction would be greatly appreciated....

the relay will act as the switch, you need to wire up a power supply for the solinoid to run on.

    relay terminal----+powersupply(-)----solinoid-------relay terminal

this should allow you valve to activate

Take one wire from each solenoid and connect it to its corresponding NO terminal on your DTSM board. Take the other three wires from the solenoids and connect them all to one of the wires from a 12V power source. Take the three C wires from your DTSM board and connect them to the second wire of the 12V power supply.

Can you tell me where you got your solenoids from?

    Yeah sure

I bought my solenoids from a company call Airtech in southwest Michigan..

The funny thing about MAC is you can only buy "new" from their authorized distributors in your state....

I found them cheaper like 15 bucks a piece in Kentucky but they refused to ship them to Michigan....

Go to MAC's website and put in your zip code and a list of dealers should come up and then contact them directly....

Even the place I dealt with seemed rather hesitant to sell me these solenoids until I fully explained what I was making with them...

I know it's the next year, but I wanted to say thanks for this answer. I was in a panic when I realized I couldn't figure how to power the solenoids with both wires going to the relay board. After reading this, I was up and running in a few minutes. Thanks again. Mark
