Someone gave me three of these Allen Bradley 42GRU-9001 photosensors. Here is a link http://raise.rockwellautomation.com/...3A485E06442199
I would like to use them to trigger my picoboos and can not figure out how.
I used the wiring diagram and could not get the box to trigger my event.
Any insight?
Thanks a million times

Always thought there were 36 hours to a day. What shock to find out there are only 24.

Hard to say without being able to see your sensors, but I would start by checking your PicoBoo to see if it is set for a "Normally open" or Normally closed" trigger:
Hook up the sensor. Black to "GND", green to "IN." If it has a red wire, plug that into "12V." If it has a white wire, plug that into the same one as the black wire. Power up the PicoBoo and wait a few minutes to let everything warm up. Trip the sensor and watch the yellow input light on the PicoBoo. If the yellow light turns ON its a N.O. contact, if it turns off its N.C., if it does nothing there is a wiring problem.
Power down the picoBoo. Hold the 1 AND 2 buttons to set to N.C. or just 1 to set to N.O. Power up the picoBoo while holding the button(s); when the red light flashes twice you can let go of the buttons and you should be good to go.Nostalgia isn't what it used to be...

these sensors have 5 wires.
brown + 10-55vdc/20-40vac
white NC
Orange Common
Black NO
Blue -
Worried about playing around to much for fear of ruining the Picoboo box...
Thanks for the how to find NC NO on the Picoboo though. I did not know that and could not figure it out.Always thought there were 36 hours to a day. What shock to find out there are only 24.

Standard PIR sensors are usually "NC" type triggers, so lets start there. I would try hooking up white to "IN", orange to "GND". If nothing happens, add brown to "12V."
If that doesn't work try switching the white wire with the black wire and see what happens.Nostalgia isn't what it used to be...

okay orange to ground and white to in got the green, the yellow? and the red on and got the controller box to trigger repeatedly. However the power indicators on my photoswitches are not on at all. Hooking Brown to 12 got the same as above.
Very much appreciate the help and patience : )Always thought there were 36 hours to a day. What shock to find out there are only 24.
