Hello Every One,
I have been searching for information on a prop that I guess made its debut at hauntworld a few years back.
Vile Things made a copy of this and posted some information online but his website was taken down and the information is still somewhat avail on an archive web page.
I have only found two videos of these "bellicose" props in action and havent found anyone on here that has posted info.
Here is the video I saw last year that made me want to make one (prop shown at 1:11).

Also on Youtube here is a video of a fellow home haunter's creation. This one is much slower, must have their pressure turned down?

Cool prop. Had to stop the video about 2:30 in because if I heard "What's he building in there? What the hell is he building in there?" one more time I was going to kick my laptop to the floor.

Looks expensive too

Reading Vile Things, they used 2inch bore and 4inch stroke cylinder. I how ever couldn't find that size for anything less than $60 bucks each and that was to much for my budget.
I'm using 1 1/2 inch bore and 2 1/2 inch stroke. Small but I figured if I my boom arm and final prop were lighter, than these should work fine. I'll find out soon I guess.
As far as cost it's not cheap but not crazy ether. I spent $50 bucks at the local steel yard for the base. I got the cylinders at a junk/recycle place for $6 each and the bearings at the same place for another $2 each.
I'm working on the arm now that I'm makin out of alum and that was more $$ so maybe another $60 on that.
The 4way 5port valves I have on order which where $30 each.
So if you have means of chopping up square tube and welding, than it's a pretty straight forward build. The hard part for me was that the bearings I got for cheap were odd size and none of the pipe would snug fit on the OD or ID so I had a friend turn the parts to press fit.
I'll keep posting updates and build photos as I go.
Im shooting for the fast movement version but I'm sure it's just a matter of pressure you choose.
