Has anyone found rubber snakes this year? I would at least see one store with them because they were cool/scary a few years ago. I can't seem to find them this year and I wanted to use some for a project I am currently working on.

I found some at Target in the Dollar Spot area. They are about 10 - 12 inches in length and came in three different color schemes. Not necessarily realistic looking.

I will check out target today probably than. I do not care that much if they are realistic or not, I need it for a project and they will be spray painted over anyway

Party City has a HUGE snake this year. It looked like an anaconda and was very thick around, about 6 or 7 inches. I'm not sure how long it was though. I was really impressed by it and would have bought it except my best friend would never set foot in my house again. They only seemed to have 1 on the shelf.

Are you looking for plenty of snakes? Oriental Trading would have those. If you want a nice big snake, Party City has a HUGE one.

I got a HUGE snake from Party City and a bunch of smaller snakes from the Dollar Store (the ones that grow - but they had others there too).

I found a nice looking one at the Dollar Tree (in the toy section). It's maybe 12 to 15 inches long and it's one of those that you put in water and it's supposed to grow 600%. I haven't tried it out yet so we'll see. My ultimate goal was to make it larger and stuff it in a container for my witches display.
    Is it Halloween yet?

Just a heads up for those looking at the expanding grow snakes. From what I remember reading in the forum maybe last year, someone experimented with their snake putting it in the bathtub to expand it. It did grow pretty large. However I'm pretty sure the poster said that it will shrink when it's out of water and when it does it can't re-expand, so it's a one-time grow thing.

I bought a few of these last year with the intention that I would use them in a swamp scene wherein I would use black plastic to create a shallow pond as it is in the yard and fill it with a little water that would keep the snake moist and large throughout Halloween night. I still have yet to do my own test on expanding a snake and seeing how long it stays plump out of water before it shrinks. Also curious how large of a container it might need once expanded--wouldn't want an exploding display....My hubby will probably give me a look when he sees it in our bathtub!
