I am planning on using two treefx to create a lightning effect this year. I am just kinda stumped on where to position the photofloods outside. Idealy i would like the graveyard to be illuminated by the bursts of light, however I have no trees in my front yard so not sure where to set the lights. Also rain can be a problem in my area. any suggestions would be extremely appreciated.
Thank you all for your help.

A black box concealing it? Or how about a tombstone.
Things are never as they seem...

those word work but what is the best placement for lights to have a realistic effect. like mounting one bulb on each corner of my roof? or on the grass aimed towards the house?

Otaku the info you provided me with was exactly what i was looking for. Just wish there was a way to get this set up waterproof some how. By the way any video of your setup in action? would love to get an idea of the overall effect.

I think this might be the link GassHogg was thinking of. I posted it the other day in the tutorials section too.
May not be what you're looking for, but it's a great tutorial.
