Need a little more info, where outside ? What theme /ghost/specter are you trying to project you need some sort of distance & control the viewing angle.
When you look in the mirror at midnight,....what looks back at you.........

Pepper's Ghost can be tricky, especially outdoors where you may not have complete control over viewing angles and ambient light...I'm doing my third one this year and I've never been 100% satisfied.

Big things to watch for: control the viewing angle, control glare on the glass, hide the source, and have something behind the glass for perspective (and black behind the source). Also, it can wreck the illusion quickly if they can see the borders of the glass. A mausoleum is one idea for outdoors, or between trees/other obstacles.

It's an amazing illusion if you pull it off.

I have to agree with Dark lord and Jeremybrooks. There are alot of factors to consider. Trial and error are the best ways I have found to get my peppers ghost to work properly. I think the biggest thing is making sure you have the reflecting glass the proper orientation and angle. The image needs to be reflecting on the front side of the glass [(the side closest to the viewers (if that makes sense?)] I started out by reflecting on the wrong side of the glass when I was trying to set mine up. It seems a little silly now, but I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working at the time.
Check out these links, they should help.

Also check out my pic. If you look closely in the middle window of my hearse you can see my reflecting glass set at an angle. I put a television laying flat on the bottom of the herse and reflected up onto the glass. I used a flat panel television so it could be hidden by the bottom of the hearse. Here is a link to my pic

And as always, the brighter the reflected image, the better. A strong black light with a brightly glowing source has worked best for me.
