How have you been attaching the pumpkin to the body?

    Thanks in advance!

I found this on the SPOOKY BLUE site:

He used chicken wire rhater than papaer mache so your milage will varry.

I drilled holes near the top and bottom of the pipe and threaded wire through them, then wrapped the wire into the head so the pipe was firmly attached. When the head is mounted to the shoulders, the pipe will hold all the weight.

Here's how I do it and agreed that spooky blue site is invaluable for info like this!

    pumpkin rot style scarecrow tut

I get the head into the shape I want then attach it to the pvc with wire here and there. In the pic in the link with the wire head on you can see 2 black plastic pipes helping to hold the head up on the shoulders. something to help hold the head up from below was important for my pumpkinrot scarecrows.

THANK YOU FirstSpartan, for the insight.

I am too far along now to do as you did but will try that approach on my next one.

My thinking now is that I use a "T" off of the PVC "spine" & add 2 4" extensions off each side.

I did take the time on my build to add some coat hanger wire in the top of the pumpkin before adding the final layers so I have something to attach to.

    Your build looks phenominal.........

Thanks again for taking the time to assist me on this project.

I'll post pics here as it is completed.
