Wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.

I'm looking to light a window for a lightning effect, and I have been looking for a way to do this.

I'm looking to use something similar to a hanging worklight, but I'm only interested in having the cord and the bulb. I have no idea where to look for something like this.

Your hardware store may have a clip-on "Work Light" that's cheaper and does the same thing.
