    Hey fellow haunters,

I'm using a web gun for the first time this year, got it as a Christmas present last year. I've heard I'll need a lot of glue sticks to make some decent webbing, but how much do you think? For discussion sake, let's assume an 8-foot long section of cemetery fencing, about 3.5 feet high. Roughly how much would be needed to web the fencing. I realize it will depend on how much webbing you want on there, but any advice would be helpful.

    Thanks

Never used a web gun, so I'm not sure :P Can you test it out and use that as a guesstimation? I'm sure it will vary slightly on the type of web gun and the air pressure it gets run at too, but I'm no expert! Good luck either way!

1 glue stick goes a pretty long way since it should only be dribbling out the end of the glue gun. Keep in mind my web gun setup is merely a hot glue gun strapped to an air mattress pump, not an official web gun. If your just using regular glue sticks your best bet is to buy a small pack and test it out for yourself. Using my setup I could easily do the fencing with 2 glue sticks.

I have one. I used it last year. It all depends on how thick you want them and your compressor. I have found that for some reason, I think it has to do with the compressor I use, that the gun doesn't get hot enough or stay hot. I have to push the glue stick through instead of only using the trigger. I'm hoping to have better luck this year. Your going to have to play around with it to get the desired results your looking for. I must say though it is fun to use! Just watch what you spray it on, because it is glue and it's hard to get back off!

I covered 2 boxes stacked on top of each other 3 foot by 3 foot and it took 4 glue sticks they came out fabulous but it took us some messing around to get the right angle. I would think 4 or 5 sticks would get a nice coating on the fence. Glue is cheap if you get it from a craft store go wild with it if your outside. I love the creepy effect!

I have a webcaster gun that I used this year. It works great! For your section of fence, if you were to do a light/medium layer of webs, you would probably be looking at about 5 or 6 glue sticks. Double that for a thick layer. You can see my webbing at http://ernstdesigns.com/site/portfol...phic-projects/ if you scroll to the bottom gallery.

    Webcaster Gun tips:
*To avoid the element from cooling off too much, TAKE YOUR TIME with applying the webs. It
should take you almost 3 minutes to go through a full stick.
*To give a nice framework to build webs on, start with fishing line. I find that the lighter test
    weights work best.
*I used my gun at the PSI recommended on the package (I think it was 80-90) but if you are
getting in close for detail work, you can decrease air flow.
*Hanging some loose webs from a tree overhanging a walkway will really add a realistic
effect of walking through spiderwebs, albeit a bit messy.

I just got one today as well as a package of webcaster sticks. (Didn't realize they were the same as hot glue) On the back of the package it says that one pack of caster sticks (20 4" sticks) will cover 350ft sq or one 12x15 room.
