Thread: My "frecycle Styrofoam" Headstones

I am concentrating on improving my "Cemetery scene" this year. As always I am constrained by $$$. I happened by a local appliance store on garbage day and saw some Styrofoam sticking out of some large boxes. So, naturally, I stopped and took a look. I figured this was as good a start as I was going to get. Some straight pieces with interesting indentions and shapes, some sheets of foam etc.

I didn't use dryloc or monster mud (honestly did not do any homework so I didn't realize there was other stuff to consider). My objective with all my props is to make them easy to store(fold up when possible) and light enough so I can tote my self (I'm a women, not a muscle man) and extremely cheap. I made these buying 4 pieces of 10 foot 1 inch PVC pipe, one can of spray foam, toothpicks, glue, vinyl caulk and 2 gallons of "waste" paint that was mixed wrong at the Hardware store. I spent about $10-15.00 and have three tall headstones and enough PVC for another plus the paint will do another 10 or more.

I am collecting as many headstone/tombstone pics, How To's as possible. Probably a little selfish here. Last years I did a bunch of research and then didn't record where I saw the stuff so I decided to collect the information on web pages (so I don't have to search again). If you want to brag A little about your stones or just want to be apart of the "COLLECTION" I would love to see your stuff and have to listed as part of the collection.
