Believe it or not, we go there every year. Its the "Pumpkin House, located in Kenova WV. Owned by... Rick Griffin, or it might be Griffith? Something like that. Honestly, he is one of the nicest people you could meet. And he is genuinely appreciative of the support and volunteers. Its about 20-25 minutes from our home. We go because our daughters Girl Scout troop goes every year. Usually the girls scoop out the insides, stuff like that. Last year I helped carve! Talk about a real treat! This year, we are going on the 25th of October, Ill be sure to post some good pics. Behind the scenes so to speak.

It all started with Rick carving pumpkins with his family. Each year the quantity grew. It grew and grew and grew. He is always asking for more and more volunteers.

You cant see it in the picture but to the left of his house is a large Light O Rama display. The pumpkins are carved out to resemble musical instruments, and of coursed time to various classical masterpieces. The display alone has *I would guess* around 200-300 pumpkins? Something like that.

If you happen to ever be close to Kenova WV, during the later part of October, trust me its worth it.

wow you are very lucky to have this near you to see... we would definitely make a trip there each year and/or help out if we didn't live in TX! This is absolutely amazing & spectacular and I wish them all the best. I assume they are all real pumpkins? Or do they have some bought and made ones as well?

This is yours truly.. it was so cold that year my teeth were chattering... this tool IS the way to hollow out pumpkins in a hurry!

When I first saw the picture I thought to myself "man that's a lot of candles..." This last picture makes me feel a little safer. It's not the fire hazard I thought it was. I guess string lights is the only way to really light that many pumpkins!

were the pumpkins donated? Around here pumpkins of that size go for minimum $10. I couldnt imagine the costs! I tried making my own pumpkins for this year because of the pricing last year ( I ended up not buying ANY pumpkins, a first for me) and squash bugs killed em.
