I finally had a few hrs to work on my bucky lids, I bought two sets just incase it was a total failure..lol....
Be gentle, I know alot of you are very very talented. I don't think they are too bad considering I had to squeeze it in between a full time job and running a store full time..lol
The first two pics, I tried to create a very creepy zombie looking effect, I like the wet look and the texture where the scalp is torn.
The next pic isnt terrible, I tried to get the weathered skin look, I still need to cut it;s right eye out and expose theeyeball in the socket of the skull under it.
The last two images are the same type of bucky lid as the first, I tried to make the area where the face and scalp is torn look old and burnt around the edges.
All in all I am fairly happy with the results.
Any and all input is welcome.
Tom

Thanks! Yes these are called Bucky Lids, they are "skins" that you put over bucky skulls, or any skull for that matter. I bought mine at the skeleton store.
I used walnut stain on them, I had it here at the house, making sure to wipe the excess clean to give the wrinkles the nice dark coloring and the skin a nice worn look.
I used simple black halloween makeup for the black edges on the one bucky and grey latex from last halloween for the torn scalp and face area, I touched it up with red and purple makeup to make the bruised look.
The other wet looking lid was done in two stages, I first used the grey latex on it, then when it was dry, i went over it with the stain. I rolled up a few small pieces of tissue paper and dipped them in the latex for texture on the scalp, I also brushed some latex on a piece of wax paper fairly thick, when it was dry I rolled it off and it gave me the brain or tissue like texture.
I went over that with stain also and then sprayed with clear coat.
It took me about two hrs to paint all three between drying and adding second coat of stain.
I saw that another haunter had painted his lids green, I have one lid left, I think I may give green a try.
Thanks again for the kind posts!
