It looks like it's a standard motor that is timed to move a short bit and whatever is on top is attached to a spring and then after the spring loaded part is extended the wiper motor is turned on again and resets so the metal shaft is straight down. Then it waits a moment and then turns on for a short time and this releases the spring again starting the motion again.

Since this is a DC motor I am guessing this is just time based turning the motor on and off.

Short answer is I don't think this is a special motor, just a standard one and it turned on then off at specific time intervals.

I think pretty much all wiper motors have a "park" feature. The trick is wiring it. If you know the origin of the motor, you could Google for a wiring diagram and find it there. I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of having the correct connector hot all the time, and when the main "run" connector is disconnected the motor returns to its park position. (At least that's the way the old G.M. ones worked.)

Get in touch with Fetch over on Haunt Forum. That looks like his "Little Sister" prop mech, and he probably knows the answer to your question.

Yeah, that clip is from "little sister" prop. I know the make/model that he listed. I was hoping that there was more than one model.

Yep, that's my vid. The function is built into the motor itself. I originally got it from Allelectronics.com. It's currently sold out, but the spec sheet is still available: http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a...MOTOR/-/1.html

I'd love to pick up a couple more myself, if anyone finds a new source (or something similar).

I know this post is ressurecting a year old thread, but I was looking for a wiper motor with a park feature as well when I came across this thread. I emailed Dean over at Monster Guts and he says that his motors have a park feature. The switch is located on jumpers 3 and 5.

    Hope this helps.

Go to this thread and read post # 36

On that post is a diagram that clearly shows how to wire the monsterguts wiper motor so the unit will park once the routine is done. This is based on using a relay to drive the motor. The routine running on the NO side of the relay and the park circuit running on the NC side of the relay. Other options were offered in this thread by myself and others. But in my case I offered the incorrect way to wire the park circuit. It is critical that this particular circuit be wired as Drop Dead indicates. Apparently wired incorrectly can result in a dead short during rotation.
