Thread: Recommended strobe light?

I have plenty of the economy strobes. I'm looking for something more powerful, between 40-100W. I know there's a lot of "DJ" strobes at this level, any certain brand or model you guys might prefer? I was recommended the Big Shot by American DJ

the Big shot is a 45w strobe, I use theADJ Mega Flash which is a 800w strobe, brings things up to a whole new level! Chauvet also makes one called the Mega Strobe which is a 750w strobe. cheaplights dot com has a 750w strobe for $80

Wow, that is intense. I'd imagine that's for covering an entire yard or side of a house? I'm using a 500W work light connected to DMX dimming for "lightning" on the house. Looking more for small but powerful strobes I can either put in a prop or in front/behind one. Definitely would want that 800W horsepower for next year though!
