    Hey everyone!

It's been awhile, but I've finally started using the glass etcher I pillaged from the depths of my Grandfathers workshop! I've been meaning to etch vials and bottles for my Vampire Killing Kit, but in between practicing with the etcher and watching too many old Horror movies, I got sidetracked and here are the results! I've been amazed at all the Witches potion shelves on here, so I decided I'm going to make my own! I'll have some of the usual eye of newt, dead man's toe's, etc, but I wanted to make some different designs, so I went with my love of movies and based the designs around that. I have the blood of dracula, blood of nosferatu, barbancourt (supposedly used in voodoo traditions), the scene from Vertigo where James Stewart is falling (Dunno what that's going to be yet, but I like the design, a Pirate ship, and the zombie poster from Dawn of the Dead! I'm going to do a mix of printed labels on some bottles, etch the rest, and possibly add price tags or ingredient tags to a majority of the bottles!

I've been hoarding bottles, jars, and glass candles, so I have a ton more free material to use! I've also switched over to drinking Mississippi Mud (the Legendre barbancourt bottle) because it's a nifty bottle that costs about $2.50 *and* the beer isn't half bad! Michael's, Joannes, and Cost Plus were charging an arm and a leg for anything cool looking so I started to look elsewhere and realized alcoholic beverages can sometimes come in cool looking bottles as do many househould items!

I plan on turning my what was supposed to be my Coffin DVD bookshelf ( it ended up being storage for my art materials) into a witches potion shelf for Halloween this year! I just need to find a place to store all the odds and ends in it.. haha..

Really nice work! If you ever need more bottles, we've had good luck in the alcohol aisle of Big Lots. Lots of nice bottles in the $2-$3 range.

@Deadna Yes, the tool I used was a glass etcher! It was buried in my Grandfathers workshop, but the basic premise is it's almost like a tiny jack hammer. It chips away at the glass instead of chemically etching it! I *LOVE* the look the etching cream gives glass because it is very smooth compared to the chipping away method, but it is WAY too hard to get the tiny details (or was for me) cutting the design into the vinyl was tedious and I kept having problems with the etching solution seeping through and ruining the bottle! I've seen some FANTASTIC results with the etching solution, but it was not working for me!

My tool is so old that I don't think I can buy a tip for it, so I've been looking at getting a dremel engraving tool, or buying the dremel flex hose for my gargantuan dremel, so I can use something a little more nimble to etch the glass with and use use a carbide tip or diamond tip which is relatively inexpensive.

@Skelly I'll have to check out Big Lots! So far I've been asking friends/family to save wine bottles, etc, but variety is always nice.. I was at a bar the other night and I was half tempted to ask the bartender to let me take home this huge box of empty bottles because I believe they were just going to toss them, but I wussed out and didn't ask.. Wishing I had now :P
