Hey Folks, I am trying to connect my manual fog machine remote to my Nerve Center, and I was hoping somone could help me out. The manual remote has 3 wires: black, green and white. The white and green wires attach to the trigger on the remote with a red wire jumper back to the light that indicates the machine is ready to produce fog (the black wire also runs here). As usual, any and all help is much appreciated!

you should be able to use the black wire like a switch leg on a light take the black from the machine and take it to the nerve center and then back to the controller which means you have to cut the cord to the fogger to do this ...I am not positive this will work.....I just hacked mine I wired a plug into the timmer so it can run several things when the timer goes off.....but now I'm thinking I can hack the wire that comes off the thermo coupler goto a pir sensor then to the controller so it works off motion but I am scared since I'm not a electronix expert like alot of peeps here

Scary Terry's page has some info on hacking a fogger, it may have something that will help:

I modified a remote a few years ago. There's some pics in the post with some descriptions of what I did that may help.

I made a X-10 version of my fogger remote:

The PowerFlash is connected to a relay driven by the fogger ready indicator light. It tells my HomeAutomation computer that the fogger is ready. The other relay is connected to the fogger button and controlled by an Appliance module. A X-10 motion sensor communicates to the HA computer TOTs are approaching. If the computer sees that the fogger is ready, it turns on the fogger for 15 seconds.

@ The Pod, that's a great idea I love x-10 stuff! Someday I will incorporate their cameras so I can record/view Tot's from central command from different areas of the haunt.
    Was that the boogyman?

The X10 stuff is easy but a pain in the ass... I bought a bunch of X10 to automate stuff this year and I'm finding it clunky... the modules make noise, miss on/off commands a lot, theres a 1.5 second lag between when I send a command and when it happens...

I'm revamping my system for a USB run relay board instead this year. Its more expensive, but a lot more reliable and responsive.
