I am thinking an operation is in order here. Has anyone performed a similar operation? I assume the led is burned out.

check the wires, Gemmy props typically use wires that are too short and have no service loops. If I was a betting man, I would bet that the wires are broken.

So true, I have scored many a "broken" Gemmy prop that has had a single broken wire. I end up replacing several wires before putting it back together. They really don't use the best wire in these things and the solder jobs are a bit shoddy as well.

If it turns out not to be the wire, replacing an LED is not a daunting task.

Gemmy props do their wiring connections with hot glue. NICE.
Yea, I have had to do some surgeries on them.
Usually, if you can somehow get to the back of the eyes, you can jiggle the wires to make the connection work again.
The Doctor Shiver has a hard plastic head though. So cutting through to the inside is going to be kinda tough. You could probably drip a 1" hole in the side in the hair so you can jiggle the wires. Be careful though. I have two Doctor Shivers. They are very delicate inside. Only one still works.

I removed Dr. Shivers wig and cut a large square hole in the back of his head to get to the eyes. I bought him on ebay and his lighting never worked. Tried to follow the spagetti bundle that is his wiring, decided to leave well enough alone.
