Thread: 2010 sort of a dud year for Gemmy Life size(?)

... at least I think so anyway. There were several Life Sizes last year that were pretty cool. I liked Vampiress and black & red dressed headless woman.

I really expected to see Men partners for these two this year, but that didn't happen.

Rhonda, the witch on the broom had potential, but they didn't change the face from the one they have used for the last 3-4 years. I already have two of the Gemmy Witch props with that face (I put a mask on one).

Not sure if Hellraiser is a Gemmy, but we saw him at the local Spirit and his mechanics and sound do NOT live up to the great appearance. I expected more of Freddy Krueger too. Not much movement.

Fortunately there are a lot of other action / movement props out there this year.

What do you guys think? I Gemmy abandoning Life Size to sell all Blowups?

I went to Spirit in Canada (Newmarket, ON). The setup is cool (it always is), what I've noticed if that most everything is up in price 10 - 15 %.
The life size props were $299.00 CND last year, this year they are $330.00. Costumes were more expensive as well.

I didn't increase my income by 10%, and I couldn't afford it last year so....

I did notice that a number of the children's costumes were identical (including the cover picture) to what Walmart carries. Except Walmart was almost 1/2 price of Spirit.

Yeah rhoda even says the same thing as the others.It's a little annoying if you have 3 witches who say the same thing.
