Hi...has anyone here lighted an entire cemetery setup using only flameless candles? I will not have many "tall" objects. There will be one 6' grim reaper, but he's lit himself (the eyes) and the lantern he's holding will be lit. I was thinking more of putting flameless pillar candles between and around my headstones. I was also considering a flameless candelabra from QVC...not sure how tall that is yet, though...I've contacted customer service. I figured I could prop it up on something for a really spooky Victorian left-to-rot cemetery look.
The tallest stone is...hmmm...probably 3'? And the smallest is a little under 2'.
I should have about eight stones this year. Not a huge setup but probably spanning...oh, I don't know. Nine feet square, maybe? Eight feet square?
Do you think this would work? I'd love to have a spooky flickering setup. My street is fairly well lit, BTW.

I like to build some of my tombstones with little nooks to put those battery operated tea lights into for extra effect, they aren't very bright for large areas but great for accent lights. I've tried "flame bulbs" and the classic fabric/fan technique but havent had much luck with realistic flames yet. I have an old floor drying fan that I'd love to make into a huge burning fire using yellow spot lights, that might be overkill for a haunt of your size...

Thanks, kevin242...I think I might just try this. I will scootch my gravestones a little closer toward one another and just stuff the candles everywhere...I'm budgeting this year and I had planned on buying at least two new Target stones (they're heavy and realistic looking) but now I think I may just have to make do with what I have. It should be spooky anyway!!

CM - this actually sounds like an awesome idea to me, and you have given me a lot of food for thought for making and lighting not only pillars, but tombstones too. I read a tutoreal on makeing faux melting candles using a glue gun. If you could figure a way to mount one to the top of the taller tombstones, and in front of the smaller ones as accent light, i think that might look cool for your smaller space.

I think having a lot of flameless candles grouped around your tombstones would be an awesome look - might even try it myself if I have the time! (I know I've got some of those candles around here somewhere ........ )

I am pretty new to the forum and have just fell in love with Terra's props and designs...I don't know if you have seen this already, but here is her graveyard....it is exactly how I wish I could make mine look! The candles really add to the scene!

I think the idea is fantastic. I love setting mood and leaving some things for thought. With the candles, there will be enough darkness that people will be wondering what they saw or didn't in the candle light!
And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
