i have been given 8 of these Crouzet motors from my dad, the only problem is how do i mount something like a cam to the tiny motor shaft ???. The motors run of 12vdc and have a fair bit of torque.
Thanks
Phil

what size is the output shaft ? servo city has some smaller sized hubs for motor shafts.

The shaft is approximately 4mm, The only problem is that im in the UK and i don't like paying high shipping cost for little items so i tend not to buy from the US unless its necessary. Do you think something like this could be adapted to work. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RC-Plane-CNC-4...#ht_2715wt_924 ????
Thanks

How long is the output shaft? Are you looking for a cam or a arm to attach linkage to? If a cam , why not cut a piece of plexi glass ,or other durable plastic, that is the same thickness as the length of the shaft into a circle, drill a hole in the center to fit on the shaft, then drill and tap a hole through the side to put a set screw in to hold on the shaft . That will be your hub , then mount your cam to the hub.

It looks like the nose piece of those should thread off correct ? I assume that is how you get your prop on. If so, I don't see why you couldn't sandwich your cam wheel or lever in between there as well. You'd just need to make sure it was tight enough to prevent slippage or from backing off.

Phil something like that will work but you would need to drill a indent into the flat side of the shaft to keep it tight. You can also get something like that at a hardware store and it will be threaded on the other end. It will look something like this but threaded on one end.

They also make a clamp that people use to use with the Dayton motor that looked something like this without the middle section (the white part) it clamps down on the shaft and you connect your prop to the nuts. I used them before but right now I can't remember what they are called but you can get them at hardware stores like Lowes or HD

Thanks for all the suggestions guys,
DiaBolik,
i'm not sure how the prop would be attached, this is just what came up after a quick search. I don't know whether they will be used with a cam or a arm linkage, i just wanted to know if they would be suitable for future use.
All of your ideas have been noted.
Thanks again
Phil
