I bought a used Bucky and can't figure how to mount the skull. It appears the the rod that goes through the skull cap is way too short. Does anyone have a copy of assembly instructions or any recommendations.
The threaded rod running the length of Bucky's spinal column (assuming you have a bona fide Bucky) is more than long enough to run the distance, up through the neck and through the base of the skull with approximately 2-3" extra inches of rod to spare. If it doesn't teem long enough when you remove the top of the skull (the Calverium) then here's what you do. Sit Bucky in any chair (preferably a non padded chair) and, with his tailbone touching the seat, press Bucky firmly into the chair by grasping his neck and thrusting down (like you are choking him) This action should force the spinal column to compress and force the rod farther up into the skull giving you that 2-3 inches of threaded rod you need to fasten the nut holding everything together firmly. If this doesn't work, check all the way up the spine from top to bottom making sure all the vertebra are in alignment and adjust accordingly. Then try again......you'll eventually get it.
