1st a little back ground. When my son was younger I would buy him a couple of Halloween costumes after Halloween of course. I never got rid of them when out grew them. I was thinking of making some small dummies with the costumes. The intense part is making them look like trick or treaters that were impaled on stakes tiring to get to the candy. The question is it too over the top?

For some reason, children in halloween costumes impaled on stakes like you are Vlad the Impaler bothers me. LOL I have seen them wrapped up in spider webs before and I thought that was fun, but not sure about the stakes.
of course, if you are really trying to make a statement with the neighbors, that will do it. :-)_____________________________________

I guess that depends...do actually want all ToTs or just the ones with enough guts to try for the candy without getting shish-ka-bobed ? If there are any that is...lol

Thank you for the feed back. I was just worry because it looks good on paper, but in real life would it hold up. My concept was along line of the temple in raiders of the lost ark.

Let me be the first to say clearly, yes, impaled trick-or-treaters would be over the line. Lock them in chains, put them in cages, tie them up? Sure. That would fit with your Temple of Doom concept. But death by impalement? C'mon. Is there really a question here?

Impaled tots is too much. If you want to have some real fun, dress up one child size costume dummy and put it in an obvious corner near the front of your display with audio of a wimpering child coming from underneath. See how many parents you can dupe into approaching the "lost" child. If you really want to take it to the next level, have a pneumatic prop ready to jump out at them both.
Undead and loving it!

I believe if you think it's OK.....DO IT! I would.
There is always going to be someone that isn't going to like what you do unless it's completely G Rated. Don't let those people dictate what you want to do. Life is too short to try and please everyone because some people will always find something to complain about.
I bet even some of the people on here that is saying it's over the top will use a 4'7 blow mold skeleton in their display. Maybe having it in a noose or laying in their graveyard isn't that about the size of a ToT? so what is the difference....dead is dead. I bet some people will have a problem with a Pirate display. Didn't pirates kidnap, beat, rob, rape and kill men, women and children, without any thought? SEE that could be offensive to some people. I once did a clown room and someone complained that one of my clowns looked like John Gasey (the serial killer and child rapist) and I could go on and on but I wont.
If someone doesn't like it and don't want their child to see it they can always pass by your house. That's their choice.
