My Haunted Yard theme this year is a Gypsy-Witch cottage complete with grave yard, zombie bride & groom, scarecrow and pumpkin patch; however, my Gypsy-Witch actress, she's very good, demands a smoke-filled crystal ball with internal green light. My production schedule is tight and I just might make 31 Oct deadline if I can find a quick and easy crystal ball plan.
Any suggestions?

I remembered reading your post and when I saw this prop over at BuyCostumes thought of you. The prop as is uses a color changing mister. I like the fingers on the base as it helps hold up the globe part and still let the "fog" spew out.
If you want to just buy something (you said you were short of time) maybe you could alter the color of the mister lights somehow. If you wanted to construct your own crystal ball similar to this I'd say pick up a mister device, a clear globe light cover from a lighting store and work something out for the base (you'll need to provide a way to keep water in it and fill it. If you could find a mister with no lights you could always come up with some way to add green lighting (even if it's only glow sticks added to the base and swapped out with fresh ones every so often). Hope this helps.

You're welcome. I hope you'll take pics of your setup when you get it done and post them.
