they sell it at wal mart. crayola makes it. DONT use regular chalk on unfinished wood. It is impossible to wash off as i accidentally found out. unless you want it permanant of course.

Thanks for the help I just went online and did a search for how to make sidewalk paint and got the answer. I need it for my NBC theme. I'm going to use tempera paint, that will keep it semi-permanent and I will wash it away Nov 1st. I'm going to "paint" the roulette wheel for oogie boogie on my driveway. Like this...

Nice! I bet it will be outstanding! Can't wait to see picks when the day is here! Best of luck again!

P.S. You can always remove stubborn paints off the sidewalk and driveway with a high pressure washer. I picked one up on craigslist about a year ago for $40.

I wonder, I know you use Tide to make things glow under a black light, do you think if I mixed tempera paint and tide it would glow under a black light? I wonder.... huuummmm gonna have to do a little experimenting I guess. Let you know what I find out.

It will work for the glowing purple(white) areas but IDK if it will change the paints properties as soap has a solvent which breaks down paint and oils. Test it out and see, who knows?? You may come up with the next best thing to Starbucks coffee!

I will let you know Ter_ran. I have found some black light tempera paint on ebay... a little expensive but in a jam I will go for it. I was also thinking about using glow sticks and just cutting them open and "painting" it over the chalk.... I also found this little blurb

Chlorophyll makes plants green, but it fluoresces a blood red color. Grind some spinach or swiss chard in a small amount of alcohol (e.g., vodka or everclear) and pour it through a coffee filter to get chlorophyll extract (you keep the part that stays on the filter, not the liquid). You can see the red glow using a black light or even a strong fluorescent bulb, such as an overhead projector lamp, which (you guessed it) gives off ultraviolet light.

I could also use that LOL Who knows what I will come up with. Well off to dreamland... Im sure I will find the answer there... seems I always do LOL
