Just a rant!!
I will not buiy another cheap butt fogger again. Seems like i have to buy the stupid things every year. I take care of the darn things to boot. I do proper maintenance using the recommended fog cleaning fluid. (i think it is a ploy jsut to mess up the fogger in the first place.)
I am buying a darn good one that you can service the parts of next time. Maybe a couple continuos foggers. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!
Oh two bad morors and the one i really wanted I fixed the motor but i think the heat exchanger is clogged..![]()

Foggers seem so delicate, I won't even risk the money on a super expensive one! I buy the cheapies after halloween at half price. If they work, great. If not, no big loss. I seem to be stock piling the cheapies now, which makes me feel better about my odds. I've had them busted new out of the box, and I've had them work multiple years with no problem. I do nothing for storage except keep the remaining fog juice in them and store them in the proper upright position. For the ones that work, this hasn't been a problem doing it like that. But there's no way I will ever pay a hundred bucks or more for one fogger.

I agree with Dan. I don't have a professional haunt or anything so, I'm better off buying cheap ones and replacing them IF they don't work. I have four foggers and so far, I have had pretty good luck with them. As Shockwave said, I do not empty them. I just put them back in thier box when I am done using them for the year..
It is very frustrating thoughwhen the big day is getting close and you have to spend money (that could go elsewhere) on things you already have but do not work.

It's a bit of work, admittedly, so it may not be worth trying to fix a low-cost machine.I...have many names...

I had an old litef/x fogger I got at Spencers about 8 years ago. It worked up until last year. I also did nothing special to it other than store it upright with a bit of fluid still in the tank. I have a couple of cheap ones that have been going strong fir the past couple years. I view them as disposable items. Get 2-3 years out of one and you did okay.

I feel your pain. I have killed an AMDJ unit 10 times over and fixed it most of those times. NOT worth the money of even fixing it. I also have a Chauvet that I had to put a new pump in last year, after only two times using it. Maybe I should go find the cheapest crappy little fogger I can.
Other wise I'm reserved to only buying an Ultratec unit. They are $x$x3 but I've worked with a few different models, two of which are older and used A LOT and they run like the day they were new.

I have four Chauvets. My biggist being the Hurricane 1700. I purchased the wirless remote activator that can run all four. This will be my fith year using them and I could'nt be happier. After years using the cheaper models, the Chauvets have performed to all my expectations. One thing to concider in purcasing a fogger is the ammount/volume it will produce. Ecpically in an outdoor haunt. In my opinion, spending more upfront far out-ways replacing cheaper models every other year.

I have 2 current dead fog machines but took one apart in the past and soaked it in CLR for a little while. Then scrubbed it with an old toothbrush, blew it off with my compressors air line and it worked like a champ! It was only clogged I guess. It is worth a try though if yours is able to be disassembled. But remember there are no extra parts so remember where all goes.

P.S. I have an older American DJ that was purchased back in 1993 and its still goin strong!
A Halloween prop is a terrible thing to waste..
