Yes it is aluminum. The crank is thin aluminum stock also. I had this stuff laying around. But you could use anything you have. I wouldn't spend the money at Home depot for either sheet or bar stock aluminum. They have too much markup. You could use wood, fiberglass or even create the typical cross with sticks. It only has to support the weight of your ghost, which should be fairly light. I'm considering changing out the rubber head for one that's styrofoam. It would save alot of weight on my prop. The head weighs more than everything else added together. I'll try and post an upskirt view of the ghost when I get home tonight. Here's a pic of the ghostie after i bought it from Walgreens. The hands were sewn to the chest. You can also pick up a package of hands for cheap at Walgreens in case you want to make your own head.
